Los Shortbreads son magdalenas escocesas. Una receta muy fácil de preparar. 1 2 3, estas son las proporciones. Pero sobre todo, ¡mucha mantequilla salada! Estas galletas son crujientes y se deshacen en la boca. ¡Para disfrutar sin freno…!
La receta original de los shortbreads se basaba en la harina de avena. Esto es probablemente lo que les dio su nombre. ¡Porque «shortbread» no significa «panes cortos», sino pasteles desmenuzables, «short» fue del inglés antiguo para que significa «desmenuzable»! Pero hoy en día son más conocidos con harina y la adición (como en mi receta) de almidón. Se les puede dar la forma que se quiera. Los más habituales son con forma de rectángulo y redonda.
Receta de «Shortbreads» para 25 galletas:
-100g de azúcar glas
-200 g de mantequilla salada muy blanda
-200g de harina (o 300g si decide no usar almidón)
-100g de fécula de patata
Precalentar el horno a 180°C.
Poner la mantequilla muy blanda en un bol grande. Añadir el azúcar glas.
Mezclar bien.
Añadir la harina y la fécula de patata.
Mezclar bien y hacer una bola con la masa.
Colocar la bola en una hoja de papel de horno.
Extienda la masa con un grosor de 1 centímetro y colóquela en una bandeja de horno.Recorta rectángulos regulares de unos 5 cm por 1,5 cm. Pinchar la superficie de los rectángulos con la punta de una tijera afilada.
Hornear las galletas durante 12-13 minutos. Los pasteles deben quedar blancos. Dejar secar sobre una rejilla. Guarde los pasteles en una caja hermética.
