J’avais rapporté cette recette des USA il y a de cela bien longtemps et je l’avais deux fois: une fois là-bas en 1992 je crois, puis un an plus tard à la maison. Toute la famille avait eu l’air si étonné de voir comment on procédait pour faire ces « treats » que je ne l’avais jamais refait. Je n’ai plus la recette sous la main mais sa simplicité m’a permis de la refaire à vue de nez. D’ailleurs il me semble qu’une recette équivalente se trouve sur tous les paquets de « rice krispies » aux États-Unis. C’est celle que je devais avoir ! Ces petites choses américaines sont vraiment sans prétention mais sont surtout très amusantes à faire pour les enfants. Les parents feront sans doute les gros yeux, mais avouez que vous les mangerez en cachette !
Mettez le beurre demi-sel, le sel et la vanille dans une casserole.
Quand tout le beurre a fondu, mettez les 200g de marshmallows.
Laissez-fondre. Cette étape est un peu…particulière !
Quand tous les marshmallows ont fondu, ajoutez les rice krispies.
Puis mélangez avec une cuillère.
Versez le tout dans un moule carré de 20X20cm garnie de papier sulfurisé. Aplatissez et régulez la surface avec le dos d’une cuillère. Pour qu’elle ne colle pas, je mets un peu d’huile dessus !
Laissez ensuite prendre pendant une heure. Démoulez et enlevez le papier.
Coupez en 16 parts.
Conservez impérativement en boite hermétique. Sinon, le sucre à la surface captera l’humidité ambiante !À déguster au goûter…
