Cet été, je suis allé quelques jours à Londres et il y avait dans mon hôtel au petit déjeuner, ces granola cakes. Totalement décadents, car très riches en beurre, je les ai tout de suite adorés et me suis dit que cela allait plaire à pas mal d’entre vous. Bien sûr je me voyais déjà essayer la recette plusieurs fois, mais j’ai finalement demandé au cuisiner si il acceptait de me donner la sienne. C’était bien plus simple ! Il a tout de suite accepté en me donnant tous les détails. J’ai été très surpris et ai trouvé cela vraiment gentil de sa part. Surtout qu’il me remerciait de la lui demander et de trouver cela très bon. Le monde à l’envers ! Je lui adresse encore tous mes remerciements.
Mettez dans une casserole, la vergeoise, le beurre et le golden syrup. Faites chauffer sur feu modéré.
Dans un récipient mélangez le reste des ingrédients.
Quand le beurre a fondu et que le liquide frémit, versez-le dans le récipient.
Mélangez bien pour incorporer parfaitement le liquide.
Chemisez votre moule carré de papier sulfurisé puis versez la pâte.
Aplatissez uniformément à la spatule puis lissez parfaitement.
Faites cuire à 170°C pendant 25 minutes.
À la sortie du four, laissez refroidir puis aplatissez légèrement la pâte à la cuillère ou à la main. Enfin, coupez le granola cake en 16 petites parts et emballez-les dans du film étirable ou placez-les dans une boite hermétique. Ils se conserveront près d’un mois.
