Scones Anglais

Les scones sont des petits gâteaux britanniques (entre le pain et le cake) d’Ecosse qui se consomment avec de la confiture et de la crème épaisse (clotted cream). Délicieux à l’heure du thé! Les scones originaux sont sans raisins, mais il est très courant d’en trouver avec. On peut donc au besoin les éliminer de la recette!

Ingredients

375 g farine
175 g crème liquide entière
75 g beurre salé mou
35 g sucre glace
75 g raisins secs en option !
1 c. à café levure chimique
1 pincée de sel

Instructions

Préchauffer le four à 220°C.
Mettre tous les ingrédients sauf les raisins dans un bol.
Bien mélanger et ramener la pâte en boule. Ajouter les raisins.
Bien mélanger de nouveau.
Mettre la pâte sur un papier sulfurisé et l’aplatir sur 2 centimètres. Couper avec un cercle de 6cm.
Il faut appuyer sur l’emporte-pièce sans tourner, sinon la pâte ne gonflera pas uniformément.
Badigeonner au pinceau avec du lait sucré (au sucre glace, sinon il y a des morceaux de sucre).
Cuire 12 à 14 minutes à 220°C.
Servir avec la « clotted cream » et surtout beaucoup de confiture!

Scones are small British cakes (between bread and cake) from Scotland that are eaten with jam and clotted cream . Delicious at tea time! The original scones are without raisins, but it is very common to find them with them. If necessary, you can eliminate them from the recipe at .

Recipe for a dozen “scones”:

-375g of flour
-175g of full cream
-75g of soft salted butter
-35g icing sugar
-75g of raisins (optional!)
-1 spoonful to coffee of baking powder
-a good pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 220°C.
Place all ingredients except grapes in a bowl.

Mix well and bring the dough into a ball. Add the grapes.

Mix well again.

Put the dough on a parchment paper and flatten it on 2 centimeters. Cut with a 6cm circle.

You have to press the cookie cutter without turning, otherwise the dough will not puff up evenly.

Brush with sweetened milk (with powdered sugar, otherwise there will be sugar lumps).

Bake for 12 to 14 minutes at 220°C.

Serve with clotted cream and lots of jam!
