Cheddar and Broccoli Scones

Recipe for 15 Cheddar and Broccoli Scones: 

• 485g of flour
• 140g of semi-salted butter
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 250g of broccoli
• 170g of cheddar cheese
• 340g of fermented milk 

Instructions: 

First, steam the broccoli for 8 minutes.

In the meantime, put the flour, the butter cut into small pieces, the salt, the pepper, the sugar and the baking powder in the bowl of your food processor or in a container.

Mix with the sheet or with your fingertips to make it sandy.

This is cheddar cheese and fermented milk. They are now found everywhere in supermarkets.

Cut the cheddar cheese into small cubes.

When the mixture is sandy, add the cheddar cheese and broccoli.

Stir for two to three seconds and then pour in the fermented milk.

Weigh 85g balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. For an aperitif, you can make them smaller and cook them for less time!

Make the balls a little unstructured.

Bake for 30 minutes at 185°C, adapting the baking time to your own oven.

Enjoy them warm! If necessary, you can reheat them in the oven.

I discovered these amazing salted scones with cheddar and broccoli during a short stay in Vancouver. Served warm, I can't stop devouring them... They looked exactly that way: a little unstructured and imperfect. That's what made me fall in love with it right away, because it gives it a little homemade feel. They are perfect for a picnic or for an aperitif.
